Pregnancy, Postpartum & Women's Mental Health

Becoming a mother can bring incredible joy—and it can also bring anxiety, uncertainty, overwhelm, and changes you weren't prepared for. You may find yourself constantly worrying about your baby, questioning whether you're doing enough, struggling with intrusive or frightening thoughts, feeling disconnected from yourself, or wondering why pregnancy or motherhood doesn't feel the way you expected it to. I have specialized experience supporting women throughout the perinatal period, including pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into motherhood. I have completed specialized training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and have clinical experience supporting women with pregnancy and postpartum anxiety and depression, intrusive thoughts, health anxiety, identity changes, relationship stress, and the emotional adjustment to motherhood. I support women experiencing concerns such as: • Pregnancy and postpartum anxiety • Perinatal and postpartum depression • Intrusive thoughts and excessive worry • Health anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum • Difficulty adjusting to motherhood • Mom guilt and perfectionism • Identity changes after becoming a mother • Relationship and boundary changes after having a baby • Birth-related emotional distress • Difficulty asking for or accepting support • Anxiety about returning to work or childcare • Feeling overwhelmed by the mental load of motherhood You can love your baby deeply and still struggle with this transition. Both can be true. We can navigate this together; you don't have to struggle alone. WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH My work with women extends beyond pregnancy and motherhood. Many of the women I work with are capable, responsible, and accustomed to being the person everyone else depends on. On the outside, you may appear to have everything together while internally feeling anxious, exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to make space for your own needs. Therapy can be an opportunity to take off some of those hats and focus on you. MEET HOLLY My name is Holly Garmon. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I believe the relationship you have with your therapist matters. You deserve a space where you can talk honestly about thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to say anywhere else and know that you will be met with compassion rather than judgment. Together, we can work toward helping you better understand what you're experiencing, manage anxiety and overwhelm, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthier boundaries and relationships, strengthen confidence in yourself and your decisions, and build practical tools you can use outside of therapy. For clients who desire it, I am also comfortable incorporating conversations about faith and spirituality into the therapy space. Seeking therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you're accustomed to being the person who holds everything together for everyone else. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. Welcome to therapy.
